Immune Boosting Diffuser Recipes. 14 Best Blends…


 

I’ve written lots of helpful articles on how essential oils can help support the immune system. So I’ve decided to collate all the best immune-boosting diffuser recipes all in one place! 

Check out how your electronic and ceramic diffuser can help to support a flagging immune system with power-packed essential oils. 

Get ready with your DIY oil kit, breathe more easily, remove congestion along with the beautiful and restorative aroma of your favorite oils. 

Immune boost diffuser oil blend 

Let’s start with a wonderful antioxidant, antibacterial immune-boosting oil which you can use in your electronic or ceramic diffusers.

I use a 10mL amber bottle which gives around 200 drops. 

  • Oregano 60 drops 
  • Lemon 30 drops 
  • Eucalyptus 40 drops 
  • Rosemary 25 drops 
  • Peppermint 20 drops 
  • Lavender 3 drops 
  • Tea tree 3 drops 
  • basil oli 2 drops

Using a pipette add each oil to the bottle. Mix well. 

To use in an electronic diffuser, add 10 drops to 200mL of distilled or boiled, cooled water for a kettle. Run your timer for an hour if you feel a little run down or sluggish. 

Add 3 drops to a ceramic diffuser, light the candle and enjoy the comforting aroma while you study, or get ready for bed.

Lemon oil immune booster diffuser blend 

  • 5 drops lemon 
  • 5 drops geranium 
  • 5 drops eucalyptus 

Add 100mL of water and run for an hour in your home office or bedroom to keep the air pure with a spa-like aroma! 

One of my favorite ways to use peppermint oil is in this clearing and immune-supporting diffuser blend.  

It helps keep the air purified to stop cold and flu bugs from spreading and helps ease congestion.

Immune boosting diffuser blend 

  • 5 drops peppermint oil 
  • 5 drops eucalyptus oil
  • 2 drops lemon oil 

Add 100mL water in a diffuser and run on a timer for an hour before bed.

Mountain air blend 

This blend supports building a sluggish immune system if you are suffering from colds, flu or viruses and helps you breathe more easily. 

This blend is best when diffused in an old-fashioned way! In a bowl of hot water with a towel resting over your head to really benefit from close inhalation. 

  • 5 drops rosemary 
  • 4 drops peppermint 
  • 3 drops eucalyptus 

Add 200mL of hot water, a towel over your head and the bowl to inhale the vapors. 

After you have inhaled deeply for around 5 minutes then pour into your diffuser using a jug and set your diffuser timer for an hour before bed.

Immune boosting tissue diffuser blends 

Diffusers don’t have to be just an electronic or ceramic type! Many things can be used to diffuse oils for the immune system. 

Along with lava beads, a tissue is just about the cheapest and simplest option! 

Here’s another of my favorite Niaouli oil blends to uplift and improve your immune system.

Niaouli Tissue blend 

I often use the simplest of diffusers with this fresh-smelling oil by adding 5 drops of Niaouli and 4 drops of Rosemary to a paper handkerchief or tissue and pop in my bag. 

It’s perfect to inhale during your day to help clear your airways and clear congestion. 

Or diffuse 5 drops to the shower tray and let the hot water run for a few minutes before getting in for a spa-like experience. 

The perfect cheapest diffuser blend for the immune system! 

This is one of my favorite blends to help with congestion and support a healthy immune system. 

Frankincense and hot water as a decongestant

To help relieve sinus congestion, add 2-3 drops of frankincense into a small bowl, then add hot, (NOT boiling), water and ensure the contents are mixed sufficiently.

While covering your eyes, place your face over the bowl, cover your head with a towel, and take long slow deep breaths. 

Frankincense easy breathe diffuser blend

  • 3 drops Frankincense
  • 2 drops Eucalyptus
  • 1 drop Rosemary
  • 1 drop Peppermint 
  • 1 drop Cedarwood 

Add all the oils to 100mL of water and set your diffuser for an hour for the best benefits.

Both cedarwood and eucalyptus blend beautifully with a little citrus, like lemon or orange, for a little zing and to help support the immune system.

Cedarwood flu buster diffuser blend 

  • 1 drop of Cedarwood 
  • 3 drops of eucalyptus oil 
  • 3 drops lemon
  • 200mL distilled water or boiled, cooled kettle water 

If you’re suffering from congestion in the chest, then this combination of Cedarwood and eucalyptus oil will help wonderfully.

This is one of my go-to cold remedies blending both the powerful antioxidant and antibacterial properties of cedarwood and eucalyptus. 

Another of my favorite immune-boosting diffuser recipes is with cedarwood and chamomile. 

Cedarwood and chamomile relaxing diffuser blend 

  • 3 drops of cedarwood 
  • 3 drops of chamomile 
  • 200mL of distilled water or from a boiled and cooled kettle 

Mix all ingredients in an electronic diffuser and set the timer for an hour while you relax or read a book. 

Ylang Ylang and Lavender immune boosting diffuser blend

  • 8 drops lavender oil 
  • 4 drops ylang ylang tree 
  • 100mL boiled cooled water from a kettle 

This blend is perfect as an air purifier in your kitchen or to help stop germs from spreading if any family members show signs of coming down with a cold.

Ylang-ylang and lavender relaxing diffuser blend 

  • 5 drops ylang ylang
  • 5 drops lavender 
  • 250 mL water 

Add to a diffuser and switch on 10 minutes before settling down to sleep. If your diffuser has a timer, set it for 1 hour to reap the benefits of the mix between lavender and ylang-ylang. 

This also works well in a ceramic oil burner too. Reduce the water to fit the water well, but keep the same amount of ylang-ylang and lavender.

Orange immune boosting diffuser recipe 

The gorgeous fresh aroma of orange essential oil is perfect for many different aromatherapy blends for electronics and ceramic diffusers, dropped on the floor of your morning shower, or diffused on your lava beads.

It’s hardly surprising that orange is one of the best essential oils to put in an immune-boosting diffuser recipe. 

Orange essential oil blends for body comfort – herbal steam for colds & flu

This is a blend that makes simple herbal steam, ideal to loosen congestion, open up the airways, and provide relief to blocked sinuses.

  • Boiling water as needed 
  • 3 drops of Orange essential oil 
  • 2 drops of Lemon essential oil

Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil. Once the water is boiling, transfer to a large and convenient heat-proof bowl. 

Then hold a blanket or large cloth over the head, bend over the bowl, close your eyes and inhale the steam deeply.

Bath immune boosting diffuser recipe 

Another great way of getting an essential oil immune boost is by diffusing them to your daily bath. 

This has a double whammy immune-boosting effect of inhalation and topically. 

For this blend, we can use some of the best oils for inhalation along with those which work well

topically to support the immune system. 

Self care bath blend 

  • 3 drops geranium 
  • 3 drops rose 
  • 2 drops tea tree 
  • 1 drop eucalyptus 
  • 1 tablespoon your favourite carrier oil such as coconut, jojoba, almond or peach kernel 

Mix all ingredients well in a small screw top glass jar or a saucer and add to a warm bath. 

To finish on,  here’s one of my favorite diffuser blends to apply to an electronic diffuser to keep your immune system fighting fit. 

Winter nights diffuser blend 

  • 4 drops of Cedarwood oil
  • 5 drops Rosemary oil
  • 4 drops lemon, orange or bergamot oil
  • 200mL of distilled or tap water 

Add all ingredients to a clean diffuser and run for an hour before bed.
